Issaquah Police Investigate Homicide After Body Found in Apartment Fire

ISSAQUAH, Wash. — September 16, 2025 — A homicide investigation is underway in Issaquah after firefighters discovered a body while responding to an apartment fire in the city’s Talus neighborhood Tuesday morning.

Crews were dispatched around 7:48 a.m. to a blaze near Shangri-La Way Northwest and Cobblestone Drive Northwest, according to officials. When firefighters entered the apartment complex, they found one person dead inside. Police were immediately notified, and the Issaquah Police Department has since confirmed the case is being investigated as a homicide.

Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity or details about the cause of death. Investigators remained at the scene throughout the day, working to determine how the fire started and what role, if any, it may have played in the death.
