Seattle, WA — A 20-year-old woman from Tukwila has been arrested on charges of sexually abusing a 7-year-old girl and producing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) after a joint investigation by Seattle police and the Washington Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Authorities say the probe began with a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which led detectives to online discussions of child exploitation on the platform MeetMe. Search warrants linked the suspect to the account, and a search of her home uncovered illicit images on her phone. She allegedly admitted to creating and distributing the material.
The woman has been booked into King County Jail on first-degree charges of dealing in depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, as well as possession of such material. Investigators say advocates and forensic interviewers have been involved to support the young victim.
Officials note the case highlights a troubling rise in such crimes. The Seattle PD’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit processes about 2,000 CyberTips monthly, working with regional partners across King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties. This year alone, the task force has assisted in over 75 arrests, including several involving female offenders, who experts say are often harder to detect.
This is an ongoing case. Check back for updates.
